I have a partner, why do I need a doula?

A common misconception regarding doula work is a thought doulas will replace or take away responsibility from the mom's partner. While we doulas understand that fear, its absolutely not true! During the season of birth, the partner's support is the most valuable to momma. As doulas, we understand the role partners play in prenatal care, delivery and aftercare. We want them to support you more than us! After all, that's what a good partner does.

Doula's aim to integrate the partners into the birthing process as much as possible. Mom's can't do it without you! Yes, doulas have the training to navigate through birth and understand techniques to alleviate pain but, we often pass the knowledge on to you. Main work will be teaching the partners to soothe, massage, and comfort mom in times of stress. You won't be getting out of this easily... :)

Expectant moms can never have enough support. We doulas are an addition to your team!

Blessings and babies,

Jo
